What is a JPG file?
It is a format designed for compressing digital images and photographs. When we speak of compressed files, we are telling the original file to compress some information. Delivering a JPG is not delivering the original source of the work.
What about a PNG?
PNGs retain a lot of data, but they are also compressed formats. If you think "my client won't notice", you are hurting the professional community. We must maintain professional ethics and DELIVER THE ORIGINAL FILES when agreed upon or necessary for the client's needs.
